13 October 2017

With the days feeling colder, and the dark nights coming in we are starting to face the bitter reality that Summer is behind us and Winter is coming. Heavy rain, ice and wind are all very likely, so winter requires more preparation for your car than any other season.

Ensure you and your family stay safe on the roads this winter by preparing for the difficult road conditions that may come. With ice and snow more likely in Winter, driving conditions are made difficult, sometimes leaving your wheels spinning, skidding and unable to climb hills.

During this time of year, the bad weather conditions put strain on your tyres leading to significantly weakened performance, and leaving them more flexible, which leads to longer stopping distances.

At Kerr's Tyres & Auto, we know the stresses and struggles of driving in Winter, and that's why we want to put your mind at ease by giving your car a FREE CAR HEALTH CHECK for the winter months.

Call into any of our Kerr's Tyres & Auto centres and rest easy knowing your car is prepared for the cold and icy winter months to come. We'll check over these important things, while you relax with a coffee:

  • Tyres - overall condition of your tyres including pressure and tread depth
  • Battery - we will test the charge of the battery
  • Brakes - we will inspect your brakes for wear or damage
  • Exhausts - we will carry out a full exhaust system inspection to identify if there are any issues
  • Wiper blades for splits or damage
  • Coolant / Anti-freeze - we will check the strength and levels
  • The windscreen wash system including the level of screen wash
  • Light bulbs - faulty or broken bulbs are illegal
  • Oil level - we will check your car oil level to ensure minimal wear on the internal parts
  • Finally, we'll do an M.O.T check to check the status of your vehicle and when it will run out.
